THE PIONEERING HERDS OF SWARTRIVIER
Swartrivier Wildlife breeds mainly Matetsi sable. These were sourced from Hennie Barnard and other top-notch breeders. We have delivered beautiful breeding groups of sable to many satisfied wildlife clients including Kwandwe, Buffalo Kloof, Mount Camdeboo, Glen Harry Game Reserves, Ubukhulu Game Ranch, and in their South African venture, Agagia Safaris of Namibia.
Most of the trophies hunted in our picturesque extensive safari area have been taken by Texans, with Californians, Alaskans and Belgians following.
The roan were sourced mainly from Charles and Philip Price of Ezulu Game Reserve, bringing with them the excellent Marakele bloodline. The breeding roan from Swartrivier Wildlife have all performed well for their new owners.
The current East African breeding bull Jackie, son of the legendary Jack, was purchased from Meletse Game Breeders and the female bloodlines range from Addo to Lowveld. Sales from this herd began in 2016.
The lechwe on Swartrivier were sourced from Grant Abrahamson of East Cape Safaris and Charles Price’s Tarkastad herd, both well known for their superior animals.
The eland and impala come from the excellent Asante Sana gene pool. The kudu, steenbok and duiker populations are from the animals endemic to the area.
The hunters of kudu have come from all round the globe.
